With the development of power electronics science and technology, electroplating rectifiers are developing from a single function to a multi-function. Since the pulse power supply is mainly controlled by an embedded single-chip computer or the like, in addition to the pulse output, there are generally various control functions.
Automatic steady current regulation. Conventional silicon rectifier currents or voltages are not automatically stable and fluctuate with fluctuations in the grid voltage. The pulse power supply has a high-precision automatic adjustment function. If the three-phase voltage fluctuation of the power grid reaches hundreds of volts, the pulse power supply output voltage can be almost unchanged. The automatic adjustment function of the pulse power supply generally has two modes:
First, constant current limiting mode. Conventional rectifier currents fluctuate when plating process parameters such as part area, temperature, concentration, pH, etc. change. In constant current mode, the output current is automatically constant and does not change at the set value. This is useful for accurately calculating the thickness of hard chrome. The purpose of the voltage limiting function in constant current mode is to protect the device from burnout.
Second, the constant voltage current limiting mode. When the plating process parameters change, the output voltage is automatically constant and does not change at the set value. This mode of hard chrome plating is not commonly used, but it is very useful for aluminum oxidation coloring.
